国際関係論研究1(理論)

国際関係論研究2(思想と行動)

国際関係論の基礎的な研究を行う。学説史を踏まえながら、現代国際関係論の基本的な概念と主要な理論を概観する。春学期に教科書を中心に国際関係論の古典と現代的な主な潮流をこなす。The spring semester will be devoted primarily to reading selections from some of the classics of international relations, studying the various theories in an organized way, and understanding the differences among theoretical perspectives. Lectures will be in English, but student reports may be made in Japanese or English.

Monica Duffy Toft, Securing the Peace: the Durable Settlement of Civil Wars. Princeton University Press, 2010.

The syllabus for the course is:
After a general survey of contemporary Peace Research, the major focus of the seminar this year will be on the durable settlement of civil wars.  Students are expected to actively participate in the seminar. Presentations by the instructor will be in English, but reports by students may be in Japanese or English.

The textbook has not yet been determined as of April 2012. The textbook will be announced later after consideration of the needs of the students and the availability of texts.

The syllabus for the course is:
This is an introduction to the field of global studies from the perspective of international relations.  It will include a selective survey of some of the principal theories and issues, with attention to topics related to the research interests of participants.  As we consider how globalization affects politics today, we need a deeper understanding of the impact of identity issues in the public sphere.  This perspective will help to focus the complex topics of contemporary global studies.

2011年度のゼミは国際関係論の基礎的な研究を行う。学説史を踏まえながら、現代国際関係論の基本的な概念と主要な理論を概観する。The spring semester will be devoted primarily to reading selections from some of the classics of international relations, studying the various theories in an organized way, and understanding the differences among theoretical perspectives. The autuman semester course is a continuation of the course offered in the spring semester. It will continue to be a survey course on theories of international relations. All students will be expected to study the textbook and other assignments, as well as carry out their own research on a theme to be decided in consultation with the teacher and complete a paper on that theme. As in the spering semester, the lectures will be in English, but students' reports and papers may be in Japanese or English.
