About Prof. Khojasteh

Yacob Khojasteh is Professor at the Graduate School of Global Studies, Sophia University (Tokyo), and Director of the Digital Supply Chain & AI Laboratory. He teaches Supply Chain Management and other operations and management courses within Sophia's Graduate School of Global Studies.

He holds a Ph.D. in Systems and Information Engineering. During 2021–2022, he was a Visiting Professor at the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, Toronto Metropolitan University (Toronto, Canada). Alongside his academic career, he has several years of professional experience in industry and consulting.

His research career has spanned production control systems, pull-based manufacturing, warehouse and order-picking optimization, supply chain risk management, and — most recently — the digital transformation and autonomous capabilities of modern supply chains powered by Artificial Intelligence. His current interests focus on production and operations management, supply chain management, logistics and warehousing, systems modeling and optimization, business analytics, and the digital and autonomous transformation of enterprises.

Prof. Khojasteh has authored and edited numerous books and journal articles. Together with S.M. Mousavi Jahan Abadi, he is co-authoring a Springer trilogy on Digital Transformation, Emerging Technologies, and Autonomous Supply Chains (2026 – forthcoming).
