Detonation Safety

Detonation Safety: Experimental & C.F.D Research

Critical for understanding and reducing risks in systems using mixtures, like hydrogen, which can undergo detonation. A unique case of DDT process intensifying safety challenges in reactor systems was seen in Fukushima Nuclear Accident.

Experiments are performed to investigate DDT process above the water surface. Detonation wave interaction with water surface. Further the experimental results are validated by the in-house CFD model, myCFD.

This research can be used to modernise and upgrade safety protocols in nuclear reactor. The CFD model can be improvised and extended to be used in aerospace propulsion.
