臼杵 豊展 Toyonobu Usuki
Biography
Toyonobu Usuki obtained his B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in chemistry
under the supervision of Professor Masahiro Hirama and Professor Masayuki
Inoue from Tohoku University, Sendai, Japan, in 2000, 2002, and 2005, respectively.
After postdoctoral studies in the laboratory of Professor Koji Nakanishi
at the Department of Chemistry, Columbia University, New York, USA, from
2005 to 2007 as a JSPS Postdoctoral Fellow for Research Abroad, he joined
the Department of Materials and Life Sciences, Sophia University, Tokyo,
Japan, as a Principal Investigator in 2008. Currently, he is a Professor
at the same university. In 2022, he was a Visiting Professor at Fraunhofer
IMWS with Professor Christian Schmelzer, Halle (Saale), Germany. His research
interests include natural products chemistry, organic chemistry, medicinal
chemistry, bioorganic chemistry and elastin chemistry.

1995年、攻玉社高等学校卒業。2000年、東北大学理学部化学科卒業後、2005年に東北大学大学院理学研究科化学専攻博士後期課程終了（指導教官：平間正博教授・井上将行教授）、博士（理学）。同年、日本学術振興会海外特別研究員として、アメリカ・コロンビア大学化学科博士研究員（指導教官：中西香爾教授）等を経て、2008年より上智大学理工学部物質生命理工学科に独立研究室主宰の助教に着任。2021年より現職。2022年、ドイツ・フラウンホーファー材料システム微細構造機構客員教授（受入研究者：Christian
Schmelzer教授）。専門：天然物化学、生物有機化学、ケミカルバイオロジー、エラスチン化学
